Using Agriculture and Open Source Technology to Contribute to the Future of Food

Korzo Theater
13 June

How can we develop collaborative and sustainable food systems solutions to support a world population that’s expected to increase by about 2 billion people in the next 30 years? In this talk, learn how improving technology  and analysis is playing a major role in agriculture around the world, and what agriculture tech solutions and stakeholders who are helping to improve food production and food access around the world are doing now to address these challenges. We’ll discuss major open source communities who are contributing to food system solutions regarding food production, plant characteristic improvement, and food access, especially in urban environments, and how we can use this technology to not only improve local food systems, but also to create more sustainable tech-forward, “smart” communities who will help shape the future of food.
